Dr. Brooks is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee where he received a B.S. degree in Chemistry. Will went on to receive a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Having served previously as a Research Assistant in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology within the UAB School of Medicine, Dr. Brooks presently serves as Assistant Professor of Biology at Freed-Hardeman University where he teaches a variety of courses including Human Anatomy & Physiology, Cell Biology, and Genetics. Will is also actively involved in research and has published his work in high tier professional journals, including The Journal of Biological Chemistry and Oncogene. His research focuses on characterizing novel proteins that play roles in the eukaryotic cell cycle. Dr. Brooks has received a number of academic awards including being named the top Chemistry major in his undergraduate class as well as the top Cell Biology doctoral student at UAB.
